Drugs of 2099, A through C

2-4-5 Trioxidiclorizide
A highly toxic carcinogenic chemical, only produced by Alchemax, which is a required to make the drug Nootropine.
Ghost Rider 2099 raided Alchemax to obtain the chemical, and stole it from the genetics lab of Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099).
He later refers to it, possibly incorrectly, as just "Trichlorizide."
Ghost Rider 2099 #6, #7

"Acid rain"
Techno-anarchists in Berkeley seeded the clouds with a hallucinogen which gets into the rain which then falls on Oakland. People exposed to this rain experience colorful and vivid hallucinations.
Repeated exposure to the 'acid rain' allows a person to develop immunity to its effects.
Additionally, the techno-anarchists use a stronger form of this drug in gaseous form to protect their headquarters from intruders.
X-Men 2099 #16

Activated Polydimorphine
A pain medication produced by the multinational corporation Alchemax. It is a main ingredient of their Megavil™ pain killer.
Ghost Rider 2099 #1

Adaptation Serum
Devised by scientist Gerald Bernardson after his daughter died of an inherited disease. He created and then injected himself with an irradiated serum that allows him to quickly adapt and mutate to face any threat.
He calls himself Mutagen and devotes himself to a psychotic quest for genetic purity.
He uses his abilities to kill anyone in the city with a genetic disease, considering them impure.

Adrenaline
The stress hormone adrenaline is harvested from tortured prisoners and used as an injectable recreational drug by the rich.
An injection of adrenalin is also the best way to reverse the effects of the sedative Somnidol.

In the real world, Adrenaline is used to treat severe allergic reactions and dangerous heart rhythms. Note that in the United States, Adrenaline is called Epinephrine when used medically; the rest of the world still calls it Adrenaline.
X-Men 2099 #21, Ravage 2099 #19

Adrenospheres
A stimulant drug consisting of large spherical pills available on the black market in the world of 2099.
Slogan: "For that rush of energy"
X-Men 2099 #11

Anti-Pollution Pharmaceuticals
These medications protect against the effects of environmental toxins such as polluted air and water.
They are manufactured by Alchemax and very lucrative for them; this is the main reason Alchemax opposes environmental regulation and anti-pollution technologies — the company makes too much money from pollution.
Doom 2099 #30

Bootleg Growth Hormones
This medication is available on the black market and is known to cause hallucinations.
Ghost Rider 2099 #7

Bio-Enhancer
An experimental drug that greatly increases its user's strength and endurance due to the development of grossly exaggerated muscles.
Essentially, it acts as a fast-acting extremely effective anabolic steroid.
X-Men 2099 #19

Black Lotus Extract
A plant extract made by the natives of the Savage Land. The extract is a fine powder that needs to be inhaled to take effect.
The drug is described as a "dangerous psychedelic."
Doom 2099 #20, #21

Chain
Chain is a highly addictive injectable synthetic drug based on DMT (dimethyltryptamine), a real-world hallucinogen found in a number of plants.
Slang: Injecting the medication is called "banging chain."
Doom 2099 #26

Chameleon
The drug was originally developed by Alchemax, who abandoned the drug feeling it was too unstable to be profitable. Dr. Winston Fong-Gomez, the scientist who developed the medication then left Alchemax and began dealing the drug on the streets.

It is sold in small breakable containers called "snapsules." They are called that because you snap them between your fingers to break open the container and the drug is then absorbed into the skin.

Chameleon is referred to as a "telemorphic hallucinogen" that allows users to change into different forms depending on their emotions. (I'm not sure why "telemorphic" is used here, as the term means having an effect at a distance, which does not describe the drug at all.)
Quote: "They say it makes your body pliable, sort of allows you to be physically become whatever you're feeling!"
If a person overdoses, they melt into a puddle of unstable goo.
2099 Unlimited #10

Cortdrazine
Cortdrazine is a very strong injected sedative.
It appears to be dosed by volume rather than strength; for instance, Ghost Rider is given a dose of 50cc.
