Suppression Medication All individuals with known mutant genes are legally required to take daily medication designed to stop their powers from activating. Quote: "...stuff they give mutants when they find the gene in them at birth. It keeps your mutant abilities from manifesting when you reach puberty." Chad Channing, the hero of Mutant 2099, has been taking placebo pills instead of the real medication so he can develop his powers. This suggests that mutants are monitored as to whether or not they take their pills (or why take a placebo at all?), but not whether the pills are the correct ones. Mutant 2099 #1
Sedative Bullets Non-lethal ammunition used by Daredevil 2099. He knows he is not as good at hand-to-hand fighting as the original Daredevil, so he resorts to pistols using these bullets when he is losing a fight. Quote: "They're not real bullets. They're solid sedative that dissolve when they hit blood. They're still painful, but not deadly." Daredevil 2099 #1
Terrigen Mists Similar to the regular Marvel universe, the Inhumans still use the Terrigen Mists, a mutagenic gas, as part of a coming-of-age ceremony for children at the cusp of adolescence. Most exposed to the mist gain beneficial mutations, but a few end up deformed or even dead due to exposure. Inhumans 2099 #1
